About the museum
The Muzeum Wódki is in a historic townhouse at ul. Wierzbowa 11, right next to Plac Teatralny in Warsaw; the entrance is from ul. Canaletta. In the same building are the Elixir restaurant and the cocktail bar The Roots, which together form the project Dom Wódki (House of Vodka), so a visit to the museum can be combined with a tasting and a meal.
The collection numbers more than ten thousand objects. Among them are historic bottles, decanters, glasses, labels, posters and signs, which show the development of applied art and of advertising connected with alcohol production. The exhibition tells the story of Polish producers, the impact of industrial change on the development of the trade, and the place of vodka in Polish table culture and everyday life.
Visits are available with an audio guide, and tickets can be extended with a tasting of several kinds of spirits. The museum is also running a project to expand its collection and accepts support from patrons.
