About the museum
The museum occupies the Fábrica do Alemán, in the village of Rande, in Redondela. The building was once a logistics centre for supplying and exporting resources and, after its restoration, was given over to showcasing the heritage linked to the Battle of Rande, which took place in the Ría de Vigo during the War of the Spanish Succession.
The permanent exhibition is organised around four areas: the Battle of Rande, the treasure, the Fábrica do Alemán itself, and the flora and fauna of the inlet. The museum's website also arranges the content into sections on the history of the period and on the return to 1702, and includes a reconstruction showing the phases of the battle.
The centre sits on the shore of the Rande inlet and has a mooring area for boats, with prior authorisation, so it can be reached both by land and by sea. The multimedia room and other spaces can be made available for cultural activities.
