About the museum
The Tesoro Devocional Esperanza de Triana opened its doors on 1 December 2017. It is located in the brotherhood's premises next to the Capilla de los Marineros, on the Calle Pureza, and was set up in the former exhibition room of the complex, which was adapted as a museum.
Its rooms bring together the artistic, cultural and devotional heritage the brotherhood has built up over the centuries. This heritage is closely tied to the history of the Triana district, its trades and the guilds linked to the brotherhood, especially the ceramicists and the mareantes (seafarers). Ties with the Royal Household and the Spanish Navy are also strongly represented.
Among other objects, the museum displays the float of the Cristo de las Tres Caídas and part of the float of the Virgin, the vestments of both images and of San Juan Evangelista, insignia, paintings, goldsmith work and pieces donated by devotees. The artistic lighting was financed by Fundación Endesa, and the Obra Social “la Caixa” and Fundación Cajasol collaborated on the adaptation and museum fit-out works.
