About the museum
The Museo del Aceite “Felipe Vegue” is linked to the Fundación Patrimonio Comunal Olivarero and occupies a modern, functional building on the Orgaz road, at the edge of Mora. It shows the culture of the olive tree, the olive and the oil throughout history and in different periods.
One of its themes is the contrast between a 19th-century olive mill and the olive mills of the late 20th century, with tools and machinery for extracting oil. The themed rooms bring together containers such as zafras, cántaras, aceiteras and alcuzas; scales, steelyards and traditional measuring systems; and a rural life room with a quintería (farmstead) and traditional trades such as baker, farm labourer, harness maker and farrier.
Visits are always guided and are organised for groups and individual visitors. The museum also offers a 360-degree virtual tour.
