About the museum
The Museo Diocesano de Bellas Artes de Córdoba occupies the second floor of the historic Palacio Episcopal (Bishop's Palace), on Calle Torrijos, opposite the Mezquita-Catedral. It holds a broad collection of works of art brought from the churches of the diocese and shows part of the artistic heritage of the Church in Córdoba, with pieces ranging from medieval art to more recent periods.
The building that houses it is the former Palacio Episcopal, built on a site where buildings from different periods of the city's history had succeeded one another. The museum was created at the end of the 1980s, according to the order published in the Official Bulletin of the Junta de Andalucía in 1988.
