About the museum
The Museo Etnográfico El Pajar brings together the collection of everyday objects that the researcher and collector Luis Moreno Landeras has been gathering about the former Merindad de Campoo, in the south of Cantabria. The museum is in Proaño, a village in the Hermandad de Campoo de Suso.
The exhibition occupies a hayloft (pajar) and the stable beneath it, that is, a traditional rural building which is itself part of the ethnographic heritage on display. The pieces are not individually documented and are presented as evidence of the country way of life in the comarca.
There is no fixed opening time: visits are arranged by telephone and are led by the collector himself, who accompanies visitors throughout the tour.
