About the museum
The Museu d’Eines del Pagès de Sant Climent de Llobregat is a municipal facility that aims to pay tribute to the women and men of the town who worked the land with the means they had. It grew out of the efforts of a group of people who came together around the idea of gathering as many tools as possible, donated by residents through their work, their objects and many hours of spare time.
The museum is housed in the Gothic rooms of the rectory, next to the church, and in the adjoining garden; it occupies three large ground-floor rooms and the courtyard. It displays farming tools used for centuries by the locality's peasants, as well as tools of rural trades such as the blacksmith, the cartwright, the pack-saddle maker and the espadrille maker, together with carts, household objects and kitchen furniture, mostly from the 19th century.
The museum also serves as the municipality's information point, since it is the only public facility open on Sundays; leaflets on local activities, the town's history and the municipal map are handed out there. Book presentations, guided tours on set dates, activities for the town's main festival and lectures are organised, and the museum celebrates International Museum Day.
