About the museum
The Pins- och kameramuseum (Pin and Camera Museum) in Bastuträsk consists of two private collections run by the couple Patricia Cowern and Lars Israelsson. Patricia Cowern is a photographer and runs the photo and art gallery Creative Reflections, which includes a camera museum. It shows around 250 cameras, lenses, projectors and other photographic objects from the late 1800s to the present day. The collection grew because many people offered her their old cameras during her time as a photographer.
Lars Israelsson, known as Pinsmannen (the Pin Man), has a pin badge collection of about 20,000 pins and just as many duplicates, which counts as one of the world's largest. At a culture day in Norsjö and Bastuträsk in summer 2024, the couple held an open house.
