About the museum
The Museum im Bellpark has existed since 1991 and sees itself as a forum for photography, history and art in Kriens. Since 2007 it has been run by the Verein Museum im Bellpark, which took over operations under a service agreement with the town of Kriens and supports the museum management with programming and fundraising.
Photography is one focus: the museum maintains a local history archive documenting the development of Kriens from a village to a suburban municipality, and holds the holdings of several Kriens photographers as well as the estate of Otto Pfeifer. In addition there is a growing collection of Swiss drawings and the "Krienser Masken" collection by Robert Ottiger.
The programme consists of several exhibitions per year, often relating to architecture, photography and everyday culture. Museum director Hilar Stadler received the Prix Meret Oppenheim from the Federal Office of Culture in 2026.
