About the museum
Armadale Community Museum is one of the local community museums run by West Lothian Council’s Museums Service. It is housed in the Armadale Partnership Centre on North Street, which also contains the local library and council information services.
The permanent collection consists of objects connected with the social and industrial past of the village, with a particular focus on the farming and mining heritage that shaped the town. The museum also stages changing displays drawn from the wider West Lothian collections; at the time of research the display told how the Second World War affected life in West Lothian, including war diaries kept by a man from Armadale.
