About the museum
Whitburn Community Museum is run by the West Lothian Council museums service and is housed in the Whitburn Partnership Centre on Armadale Road. It is the place to find out about the local history of Whitburn and its communities.
The permanent exhibition was co-curated with local people and shows artefacts connected with the town’s communities, people and stories, including local coal mining and the Levi’s factory, together with a digital interactive display. Collection highlights include a Fender guitar signed and donated by Andy Mooney, the chief executive of Fender, who was born in Whitburn.
The museum welcomes donations of objects and pictures and offers volunteering opportunities.
