About the museum
The Cae Dai 1950s Museum is a private collection of objects and memorabilia from the 1950s, put together by Sparrow Harrison MBE. It is set on a working farm in the Vale of Clwyd, about a mile from the centre of Denbigh, and has grown over the years with donations from members of the public.
The displays are laid out as room settings and themed areas. They include home life and shops, entertainment, film and pop music with a 1950s coffee bar and juke box, and sections on crime and sport. Classic cars and vehicles, among them the getaway vehicle from the Great Train Robbery, are also on show. The aim is to bring back memories of childhood, corner shops and the arrival of rock 'n' roll.
The farm also has a community orchard, woodland walks and a picnic area. The museum takes group bookings and works with schools.
