About the museum

The National Film and Sci-Fi Museum is a registered charity based in Lloyds Court, close to the shopping centre in the middle of Milton Keynes. It opened to the public in 2021. Its stated aim is to preserve, restore and exhibit the art and craft behind film and television productions.

The displays are on the first floor and bring together props, costumes, concept art, photographs and footage from more than 100 productions. Well-known pieces include a screen-used Darth Vader mask, a Walther PPK pistol from the James Bond films, the grail cup from Indiana Jones and a Cyberman helmet from Doctor Who.

Beside the permanent displays, the museum organises talks by creators, guest appearances, signings and anniversary screenings, and it hosts a weekly role-playing club in the evenings. It runs educational activities for school groups and offers a hire service for private and networking events. It works with two neighbouring attractions, Brickz Museum and The Pixel Bunker.
