About the museum
The Old Drill Hall on Scar Lane was designed as the home of the 7th Battalion of the Duke of Wellington's Regiment and was completed in 1911. The unit moved to a larger drill hall in Huddersfield in 1961, after which the building stood empty for a long time.
The hall was later converted into a museum and is now run by the Bullecourt Museum Trust, a registered charity. The collection covers military history from the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 up to the present day.
