About the museum
The team grew under Sir Frank Williams and has won 16 world championships and 114 races across almost fifty years in Formula 1. The Grand Prix Collection preserves cars and memorabilia from this history at the team’s headquarters in Grove, near Wantage in Oxfordshire.
The collection runs from the inaugural Williams FW06 of 1978 to recent cars. It includes the six-wheeled FW08, Ayrton Senna’s first Formula 1 car, the FW08C, cars driven to drivers’ titles by Alan Jones, Keke Rosberg, Nelson Piquet, Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve, and Juan Pablo Montoya’s Monaco Grand Prix winner of 2003. Race suits, helmets and other memorabilia from the team’s drivers are also shown. The team notes that the displayed cars may change from time to time.
Visitors see the collection in the Williams Experience Centre on guided tours and event days that are booked in advance. The team’s heritage department also looks after the cars and runs heritage events.
