Over het museum

The Boeschepe radio museum grew out of the passion of collector Didier Parent, who has been gathering radio receivers for some twenty years. It now displays many models that show the technical evolution of radio and the variety of its styles, from crystal sets to radio-phono cabinets and then to small transistor sets.

The museum is run by an association and sits in the centre of the village of Boeschepe, near the church, at the foot of the Mont des Cats and about three kilometres from the Belgian border. It opened to the public in June 2012.

The collection also includes loudspeakers, old televisions, gramophones and documentation. Themed temporary exhibitions are shown regularly and are included in the admission price. The museum also organises events such as a music festival and a radio and audio fair, and takes part in the European Heritage Days.
