Over het museum
The Kannermusée PLOMM in Wiltz opened on 26 April 2024. The idea goes back to a LEADER project in 2009 and 2010. The building, with more than 1,700 square metres, is on the Geenzepark campus and is part of the urban development project “Wunne mat der Wooltz”, which also includes a primary school, a Maison Relais and Wiltz’s music school.
The museum is aimed at children from zero to twelve years old, along with their families and accompanying adults. Its focus is on participation, discovery and creativity: children design, experiment and are introduced to social and cultural themes in an exhibition without written text. Alongside the permanent exhibition “Arbre des histoires” (“Tree of Stories”), there are temporary exhibitions and creative workshops.
Since 2023 PLOMM has also been one of the resource centres for non-formal education in the Grand Duchy. With the Kompetenzlabo, it offers professionals, municipalities and institutions free training, support and materials on involving children. The operator is the association Kannerhaus Wooltz a.s.b.l.
