Over het museum
The Galerie veteránů (Veteran Gallery) was set up in the former cinema building in the Trávnice district of Turnov. The cinema, dating from 1932, served its purpose until the early 1990s; it was then moved elsewhere and the old building fell into disrepair, and for a short time it housed a Vietnamese market. The building was later renovated.
The gallery was founded by car enthusiast Jindřich Svoboda, and since summer 2025 a permanent exhibition on two floors has been open to the public. Visitors can see more than forty cars from the 1920s to the 1970s, as well as historic vehicles and motorcycles of Czechoslovak and foreign make. Most of the exhibits date from the second half of the 20th century, but there are also some older pieces.
The cinema continues to operate in the building. On the second floor there is the Café-bar Galerie, with a view of the town and part of the exhibits.
