About the museum
The Puppenhausmuseum is located in the middle of the village center of St. Thomas am Blasenstein, in a former school building that was completely renovated and converted into a museum. The exhibition space covers around 450 square meters. The house opened in 2010.
The collection comprises more than 2,500 antique dolls, dollhouses, rare miniatures and other toys. A historical timeline running from around 1860 traces the development of dolls and their accessories, including pieces by well-known makers such as Jumeau, Gaultier and Steiner. The miniatures show fashion and everyday life around 1900 through classrooms, houses and shops on a small scale.
The museum is currently closed to individual visitors; buses and groups can come by advance booking. The house has its own café.
