About the museum

The Hoge Mote stands in the middle of Ronse's historic centre. Three towers already stood here in the past; with a fourth tower the view is complete. The site was restored into a heritage gem with surprising contemporary accents and is the permanent home of Visit Ronse.

The building has become a reception and experience centre, the ideal start for a town walk or an exploration of the Flemish Ardennes. With interactive panels, listening stories, films and virtual reality, you can discover more about Saint Hermes, the town's textile history and urban development in Flanders' most beautiful landscape. All information is available in four languages.

The visitor centre is free to visit and is a family-friendly hotspot; if you want to discover all the modules, you will need about an hour. On 15 October 2019 it received the A-grade label for accessible tourism from Toerisme Vlaanderen, and it is also autism-friendly, with a visual step-by-step guide to the visit.
