About the museum
The Geel Brewery Museum grew out of the collection of Ludo Helsen, who inherited his love of Geel's brewing history from home: his mother and uncles worked for the Van Milders family, which played a leading role in the brewing trade of old Geel. For years he dreamed of showing his collection. That dream became reality with the renovation and opening of the Geels Brouwhuis.
In the meantime the museum has found a new home on the authentic site of the Geel Bakery Museum in Ten Aard, at Worfthoeven. It is run by a non-profit association and has its own opening hours and contact details. The museum also had its own tripel brewed, the Sint-Amandus Tripel, and in 2024 it released a distilled drink under the name J.B. Stessens, named after a painter from Geel.
