About the museum
The Lovački muzej Hrvatskoga lovačkog saveza (Hunting Museum of the Croatian Hunting Association) collects, systematises, preserves and exhibits the heritage of Croatian hunters, and celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2025. Its role is educational and instructive: alongside the cultural heritage of hunting, it also presents part of the natural heritage relating to the animal world of Croatia’s regions, and it promotes awareness of the protection of fauna and nature.
The museum occupies two floors of the Wohlmuth villa from the 1920s at Ulica Vladimira Nazora 63, which is the seat of the Croatian Hunting Association. The villa is surrounded by the Tuškanac park forest, and the display in the authentic interior extends into the outdoor space. It covers about 800 square metres.
The heritage is systematised into around fifteen collections. Among them, a collection of more than 400 game trophies and a collection of valuable fossil finds of the ancient Pleistocene elk and the giant deer stand out. Croatian hunting tradition has been entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia.
