About the museum
The exhibition was created in 2012 as part of the project Regionem renesance nejen po stopách historie. It is located in Dolní Cerekev, in the birthplace of the composer Karel Pádivý, where a music school is now also housed.
The main part of the exhibited material presents the life and work of four composers from the market town: Antonín Ptáček, František Prášil, Karel Pádivý and Blahoslav Smíšovský. Their output ranges from songs and brass band music through compositions for children and church music to choral works and cantatas.
Visitors can also learn about the history of the small town, about the life and work of its inhabitants at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, and about the surrounding nature.
