About the museum
The collection of plastic military vehicle models was created by the Třešť native RNDr. Vladimír Balík. After his death his family donated it to the town of Třešť. It contains more than 750 models, all made by the author himself, using a technique that is now almost no longer used.
The exhibition was officially opened on 11 August 2012 in the former waiting room of the railway station, as part of the DY-THA rail project co-financed from European Union funds. The texts and panoramas were prepared by members of the Jihlava Plastic Model Club (Klub plastikových modelářů Jihlava). Today the exhibition is located in the Gallery on the square in Třešť.
The models are divided by armies into Czechoslovak, American, Soviet and German. Only part of the collection is on display. Visits take place with a guide from the tourist information centre.
