About the museum
Film Legends Museum is a private project that aims to show collectors’ film exhibits to the wider public and to support the film artists working behind the scenes. The first branch was established in 2015 in Prague; the Poděbrady museum opened on 25 March 2016, and further branches were gradually added in Kroměříž, Kutná Hora and Český Krumlov.
The museum is located on the main square of Poděbrady. The collection consists of finely detailed statues, busts, figurines, replicas and dioramas in various scales, from 1:6 up to life size. It focuses mainly on film, but there are also comic, game and fairy-tale characters; each branch has a different selection of exhibits and a different atmosphere.
The museum stresses that it is not a waxworks museum. The exhibits come from leading world manufacturers of collectors’ statues, and they are often limited and sold-out pieces. All the museums together had more than 3,000 exhibits at the end of 2023.
