About the museum
The museum is housed in the Löschner Pavilion in Kyselka, named after the doctor Josef Löschner, who helped spread the reputation of the healing springs. The building from 1907 served as a mineral water bottling plant, and bottling took place there until the late 1970s. It is a protected monument.
The exhibition presents the history of the company founded in Kyselka in 1873 by Heinrich Mattoni, and the history of mineral water bottling. Visitors can see period documents, photographs, business correspondence, maps and plans of buildings both realised and unrealised, historical bottles and a collection of labels, the historical safe of Mattoni AG, and a cast-iron eagle that once stood on one of the spa buildings.
A newer part of the exhibition is a replica of the 1907 cable car trolley with a time capsule. For children there are interactive elements and an animated film made after a Mattoni advertising leaflet from the 1930s.
