About the museum

The Telč Museum of Technology opened on 11 August 2012 in the building of a former steam sawmill, which Leopold Podstatzky-Lichtenstein founded in 1873. It stands on Na Sádkách Street, about a hundred metres from the central car park and ten minutes’ walk from Zachariáš of Hradec Square.

The exhibition covers about 900 m² and presents historic cars, motorcycles, bicycles, stationary engines, prams, toys, stoves, radios, electrical appliances and everyday items from our grandmothers’ time. It is complemented by displays of old rooms, such as a dentist’s surgery, a farmhouse parlour and a period car mechanic’s workshop. A Stalinec S 100 crawler bulldozer stands in the courtyard behind the entrance gate.

Free parking is available right on the museum site. Spring and autumn outings of machines from the last millennium, with a spare parts fair, also take place at the museum (in 2026 in April and September).
