About the museum
Infantry bunker T-S 27 Nad vesnicí is part of the Czechoslovak heavy fortifications near Odolov in the Podkrkonoší region. It was designed as a fortress structure with a main armament in the form of a mixed twin mount, a vz. 36 cannon and a vz. 37 heavy machine gun, plus auxiliary light machine guns. It had its own well, could be self-sufficient for 14 days, and its garrison was to consist of 24 men.
The bunker is being reconstructed and opened to the public by the Klub vojenské historie Brendy (KVH Brendy), which has worked on the structures since 1998. The association focuses on military history, especially the period of the First Republic and the Second World War. It also looks after the nearby bunker T-S 28, which has remained in the original construction-site state of 1938.
The interior exhibition deals with the army of the First Republic, the Second World War and the defence of the state in 1938. During the season, tours take place only on pre-announced opening days, and at some of them with an evening film screening.
