About the museum
The mill in Hronov is linked to the Čapek family, whose siblings, among them the writer Karel and the painter Josef, came here as children to visit their grandparents. According to the museum, the surroundings inspired them to write a number of fairy tales.
Today the building is run by the Muzeum Náchodska (Náchod Museum). The exhibition focuses on the childhood of the Čapek siblings and during the tour also recalls other notable personalities associated with Hronov.
Occasional paper-making workshops take place in the premises of the Old Paper Mill; these can also be taken as an educational programme for schools and interest groups.
