The Morgan Garage
Small private car museum in Besser on Samsø with Morgan sports cars from 1923 to 2022 in a former garage from 1938.
About the museum
The museum goes back to the passion of the collector Preben Bograd for the British sports car brand Morgan. From 2012, he gathered vehicles; the wish for a garage for a few cars soon became the idea of showing the collection, together with all sorts of quirky finds, to the public.
As the building, he chose the former workshop of the Degn brothers in Besser, which had been built in 1938 and had badly decayed after many years of vacancy. Components and installations were renewed or restored before the museum opened on September 16, 2017 – accompanied by 47 Morgan vehicles with their owners and many guests from the island.
On display are Morgan cars from about a hundred years, from a three-wheeled model of the 1930s to vehicles from recent times, complemented by pedal cars, children's electric cars, and model cars in many scales. The furnishings are meant to evoke the atmosphere of English industry and craftsmanship, for example with a red British telephone box. The Morgan Motor Collection also includes the small motorsport theater Morgan Pit Lane next door and a rental service for rides in Morgan cars; a specialist library with books and club magazines is under construction.

| Good to know | In the neighboring house (Besser Hovedgade 60), the motorsport theater Morgan Pit Lane shows Morgan's racing history in about 70 minutes with three historic race cars, films, and effects; guests are led through five scenes. The show starts punctually, photographing and filming are not allowed there; it is not recommended for people with limited mobility because of stairs and prolonged standing. |
