About the museum

Hans Larsen laid the foundation of the collection in 1977 on his farm in Outrup on the Limfjord island of Mors. Alongside farming, he collected and restored rare tractors; the museum opened on October 23, 1980. It describes itself as Denmark's oldest tractor museum. By now, it is no longer the farm but the museum that is at the center, located directly next to the family's residence.

The exhibition includes more than 150 single-axle and two-axle tractors as well as crawler tractors from about 100 makes. The time frame ends in 1960, when the tractor had reached its present basic form. One focus is on showing all makes built in Denmark; about half of the vehicles were used in Denmark, and the rest come from Europe, the USA, and Canada, including prototypes and small series.

Thematically, the show ranges from the motor plow era to the Ferguson, from the change from steel to rubber wheels to wood gas and carbide gas drives. Further chapters deal with the use of tractors in the Second World War and Marshall Plan aid. Display cases with model tractors, banknotes, stamps, and other collectibles featuring tractor motifs complement the exhibition. In 2021, Hans Larsen received the large silver medal of the Det Kongelige Danske Landhusholdningsselskab for his work as a collector.
