About the museum
Pernova Loodusmaja is a visitor centre in Pärnu, operating in a building with unique architecture and a turf roof. The centre tells stories of the diversity of nature in the home region and in the wider world, and organises exhibitions, themed events, hobby groups and practical educational programmes for schools.
The permanent exhibition is spread over three floors of the building. The ground floor is devoted to the nature of Pärnumaa; on the first floor there is a forest room, a winter garden and aquariums, and on the second floor models and teaching aids introduce space exploration.
At the heart of the building is a dome cinema and planetarium, where 30–40-minute films take visitors into the depths of the universe and the underwater world. In addition to the permanent exhibition, changing temporary exhibitions take place in the building.
