About the museum
The Sindi Muuseum is located in a small historic house at the end of Wöhrmanni allee. In 1902 the Sindi consumers’ society, the first such cooperative in Estonia, was founded in this house. The museum opened in 1983 as a hobby museum of the factory.
The permanent exhibition presents the history of Sindi’s textile industry and factory, the everyday life of factory workers, and the story of the town and its school. In the small kitchen room there are tools of the previous century and women’s handicrafts. The museum also covers local education, sports and society life, and the life and work of a painter from Sindi.
