About the museum

HAM Helsingin taidemuseo (HAM Helsinki Art Museum) is the City of Helsinki’s own art museum, which operates in the Tennispalatsi (Tennis Palace) in Kamppi. The museum looks after, expands and presents the art collection owned by the city, which comprises more than 10,000 works, including Helsinki’s public artworks.

The exhibitions in the Tennispalatsi present Finnish and international modern and contemporary art. The exhibition spaces are on the first and second floors of the building. The museum curates and produces the Helsinki Biennial, and it acts as the regional responsible museum for Uusimaa, coordinating cooperation among the professional art museums of the region.

Since the beginning of 2023 HAM has operated as a foundation within the Helsinki city group. The museum’s director since 2023 has been Arja Miller.
