About the museum
The Punkmuseo is a museum of punk culture operating in Helsinki. Its permanent premises are in the Graniittitalo (Granite House) in Kamppi, at Jaakonkatu 3. Members of the museum can enter the museum and its events free of charge.
The museum’s website has an events calendar, an archive and a radio section. The museum has organised several exhibitions celebrating 50 years of punk in Helsinki. These include the exhibition Punk! 50 vuotta säpinää Helsingin kaduilla (Punk! 50 years of buzz on the streets of Helsinki), which the museum’s curators made for the Helsinki City Museum’s Hakasalmi Villa, and the exhibition Maailma oli kuolemassa, mutta me olimme elossa (The World Was Dying, But We Were Alive), displayed in the tower of Kiek in de Kök. On Helsinki Day, too, the museum has had a programme and free admission.
