About the museum

Museokeskus Taika is located in the very centre of Hyvinkää, on the second floor of the Jussintori shopping and art centre, about 300 metres from the railway station. It brings together the exhibitions of the Hyvinkää Art Museum and the Hyvinkää City Museum (kaupunginmuseo).

The Hyvinkää City Museum is a cultural history museum that tells of Hyvinkää and the history of its people. The exhibitions of the art museum present contemporary art and phenomena in the art of the 1900s and 2000s. The museum centre's permanent collection exhibition Taidelabra presents the collections of the Hyvinkää Art Museum.

The museum centre exists for its community: its values are customer orientation and accessibility, respect for cultural heritage, courage and experimentation, and equality. The Valvila Factory Museum (Valvilan tehdasmuseo) in the wool factory area also belongs to the museum centre. Hyvinkää's history as an art town is also strongly visible in the public art of the streetscape, which the museum centre presents.
