About the museum
The Pakkausmuseo is located in the church village of Pyhtää, in a red cottage on the site of the former Stockfors wood-grinding mill. The Stockfors mill was founded by Norwegians and employed more than a hundred people until the 1960s. The museum was founded by the area's current owner and the owner's spouse.
The collection includes packaging, jars, labels, wrappers and paper products. Most of the objects are from the 1950s and 1960s, the oldest from the early 20th century and the youngest from the 1970s. The collection includes packaging from the paper converter Pyroll, as well as material based on the collection of the collector Veli Koski.
On the ground floor of the former fire station is the exhibition Tervetuloa 70-luvulle (Welcome to the 1970s), which includes the paper dolls of the magazine Apu.
