About the museum
The Pelastusarmeijan museo presents the history of the Salvation Army in Finland. The exhibition tells the story of the Salvation Army from international and national perspectives, from its early difficulties to the present day.
The museum opened at Uudenmaankatu 40 in 1969. In 2009 it reopened on Mikonkatu, and in autumn 2017 it moved back to Uudenmaankatu, next to the Salvation Army headquarters. The entrance is on the courtyard side.
The renewed exhibition highlights the work done with children, the poor and people who use intoxicants, as well as the history of the organisation’s various forms of work. Through objects, visitors get to know the Salvation Army’s story and activities in Finland.
