About the museum
The Rauma Art Museum operates in Old Rauma in the Pinnala buildings. The pink main building was completed in 1795 and is Rauma's first private stone house. Its enclosed courtyard is regarded as one of the best-preserved in Old Rauma.
Art museum activity began in Pinnala in 1970, and the first intendant was the painter Alpo Sarava. The museum supports local visual art and assembles the art collections of the City of Rauma. Since 2019 the museum has been part of the City of Rauma museums.
The upstairs collection exhibition presents 68 works by 68 artists from the city's art collections. The museum also organises guided tours, workshops, discussions and lectures, and the international contemporary art exhibition series Rauma Triennale will next be held in 2028.

The main door on Kuninkaankatu has steps. The step-free entrance is through the inner courtyard (gate on Kuninkaankatu), where there is a platform lift: ring the doorbell and staff will help. The ground-floor exhibition rooms are step-free, but between the museum shop and the exhibition rooms there is a threshold of about 11 cm, which needs help to cross. The second floor is not step-free, as there is no lift. The museum has no accessible toilet; the nearest step-free public toilets are at Kauppatori, at the Rauma social and health centre (Steniuksenkatu 2) and in Savilanpuisto. Holders of the EU Disability Card may park in the inner courtyard free of charge, but a space cannot be guaranteed. Assistance and guide dogs are allowed; pets are not.
