About the museum
The museum occupies the studio that sculptor and engraver Louis Leygue, Grand Prix de Rome winner in 1931, had built to work in Naveil. Influenced by Cubism, the artist left unique pieces and sculpture models there. In 1986 he gave this studio-museum to the town of Vendôme.
The Ministry of Culture reports that the museum has been closed since September 19, 2022; the local authority is considering assigning the collections to the Vendôme museum. However, a self-guided visit with an exhibition of craftspeople was announced for September 20, 2026, during the European Heritage Days.
