About the museum

The Bourse de Commerce occupies the site of the former Hôtel de Soissons, in the heart of the Les Halles district. The circular building was constructed between 1763 and 1767 as Paris's grain hall, and a dome was completed on top of it in 1783. It was later converted into a commodities exchange and listed as a historic monument.

The site was restored and fitted out to house the Pinault Collection, which comprises about 10,000 works of art. Architect Tadao Ando took a radical and meditative approach, letting the restored decoration and preserved remains coexist with his contemporary interventions. The museum opened in 2021.

The route is organized around the Rotonde, the Salon on the ground floor designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, and several exhibition levels. The exhibitions present works from the collection and by invited artists. The building also houses an auditorium, a bookshop and, on the top floor, the restaurant La Halle aux Grains.
