About the museum

Le Plateau is the Paris exhibition space of the Frac Île-de-France, set in a residential complex built on the former site of the Société française de production. A residents' association, “Vivre aux Buttes-Chaumont”, campaigned for the project to serve contemporary art.

The venue opened in 2002 with the support of the Île-de-France regional council. It presents temporary contemporary art exhibitions, often drawn from the Frac's collection, and offers tours and workshops for all ages.

The Frac Île-de-France, founded in 1983, is funded by the Region, the State and the City of Paris.
