About the museum
The Albaret-Sainte-Marie museum occupies the village’s former bread oven, restored, next to the church. It covers no more than 20 m². According to the tourist office, it is listed in the Guinness World Records as the smallest museum in the world.
It was set up by a villager. Inside, the history of the region and the village is told through newspaper clippings, maps, drawings and tools. Residents regularly update the exhibition, which gives it a cheerfully chaotic character.
Admission is free and the door stays open all day.
