About the museum
Between 1958 and 1992, Abbé Hoarau explored every corner of his parish of Blasimon, bringing aspiring archaeologists along with him. He gathered worked stone tools, potsherds, bones and pebbles, which he patiently labelled. He displayed them in the first museum of Blasimon, opened in 1967 on the upper floor of the town hall.
The collection was modernised and enlarged, then installed in the village chapel. The present museum, named HOA! for “Histoires Originales et Archéologie”, pays tribute to the abbé while introducing the public to archaeology through games, activities and educational workshops.
The trail places the history of Blasimon, an Entre-deux-Mers commune known for its mills, its bastide, its abbey and its vineyards, from prehistory to the present day. The visit can be continued at the commune's notable sites.
