About the museum
The Musée du vieux Pommiers was founded in 1937 by the Association des amis du Vieux Pommiers. Its collection comes from gifts by residents of Pommiers and a deposit from the town council.
The holdings include architectural elements (capitals, coats of arms, crosses), sacred art objects, and Forez furniture in bourgeois and rustic styles: kneading trough, cradle, dresser and everyday utensils.
The museum is currently being restructured. Some objects have been temporarily deposited at the Priory of Pommiers, whose entrance is opposite the museum. A museography project plans to move the collections to another site.
