About the museum
The site on the rue de la Fère occupies the former Motobécane factory in Saint-Quentin. A single ticket covers two visits: the Village des Métiers d'Antan and the Musée Motobécane.
The village recreates streets over 3,200 m², with genuine restored period facades, more than 50 trades and thousands of objects dating from 1860 to 1960, including a bookshop, a 1950s classroom, a clockmaker's workshop and a cooper's workshop.
The Musée Motobécane displays more than 120 models. The brand was founded in the early 20th century by three engineers, Abel Bardin, Charles Benoit and Jules Bénézech, in a workshop in Pantin. The moped appeared in 1949, followed by the famous “Bleue”. In 1951 the company moved its main site to a former textile factory in Saint-Quentin. Most of the pieces on display come from the company's collection, now known as MBK Industrie.
