About the museum
The Musée municipal de Chauny opened in 2002 on rue de la Paix, opposite the municipal media library. It presents objects that bear witness to local history, from prehistory to the present day, including a collection of faience from Sinceny, the neighbouring commune.
The town suffered heavy damage during the First World War, so the museum regularly organises exhibitions and visits on the Great War, the reconstruction and Chauny’s Art Deco heritage. A monthly booklet, “Les rendez-vous autour de l'art”, presents the programme.
