About the museum
The museum is dedicated to Dr. Paul Voivenel (1880–1975), neuropsychiatrist, writer and journalist. It occupies the second and third floors of this doctor’s house in Capoulet-et-Junac, an Ariège village of which he was mayor.
The rooms bring together memories of a life devoted to medicine, literature and rugby: original documents, manuscripts, photographs, watercolors, a sculpture and mementos from the First World War. Voivenel served as a doctor during the First World War and wrote more than fifty books. Passionate about rugby since his student days, he also wrote sports columns under the pen name “La Sélouze” and founded the Ligue des Pyrénées.
