About the museum
The A10 Immerhof work, nicknamed “Tiburce” by its occupants in 1940, is a small Maginot Line work meant to protect the railway line between Thionville and Luxembourg. It is one of the rare works built entirely above ground, which kept it protected from humidity and explains its good overall condition; the sector saw little fighting.
The commune of Hettange-Grande bought the work in 1974 and opened it to the public the following year. The association Le Tiburce, made up entirely of volunteers, maintains and restores it, including the parts not open to the public. In 2011, the town entrusted a reception building to the association.
The guided visit covers about 250 meters of gallery, with living quarters on two levels. The association also keeps alive the memory of former servicemen and offers reenactments of the 168th Fortress Infantry Regiment.
