About the museum
The Autohaus Hertrampf in Nossen is a family business that celebrated its hundredth anniversary in 2019 and today sells new Renault and Dacia cars and restores vintage cars. In the neighbouring building, a former Konsum department store, the family set up its own vehicle museum in the 1990s.
Several dozen automobiles from around a century are on display, including a Ford Model T, pre-war cars from Hanomag and Opel, French models from Renault and Simca, East German vehicles such as the AWZ P 70 and IFA F 9, and Soviet cars up to the Chaika state limousine. There are also numerous motorcycles, mopeds, bicycles and engines.
The museum is the starting point for regular vintage car events: on Ascension Day a large drive into the Erzgebirge starts here, a vintage car meeting takes place on Whit Monday, and the collection also opens for town festivals such as the wine festival or Christmas market.
